Director, Member Relations - DC

Summary

The Director, Member Relations engages in outreach to existing and prospective member banks -- primarily via phone and written/email correspondence, with some travel -- to achieve the revenue and member engagement goals of the association. Note: This is a location-flexible position. While the preferred locations are Washington, DC or Sauk Centre, MN, remote candidates will be considered.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain an outreach plan to connect with nonmember banks to recruit them into membership, either directly or in conjunction with Member Relations Officers.
  • Proactively connect with member banks to discuss the overall ICBA value proposition relative to the member’s business goals and objectives.  Work with member banks to increase engagement and product usage.
  • Conduct balance sheet and operational conversations with nonmembers and members to generate business opportunities for ICBA, illustrate value in membership, and to assist banks in achieving their business objectives.
  • Offer product trials as a sales/closing tool in assigned territories.
  • Partner with Member Relations Officers, to facilitate acquisition of nonmembers and provide superb customer service to existing members.
  • Prepare accurate and timely pre-sales and post sales correspondence.
  • Attend training programs, selected trade shows, sales meetings, and team meetings as directed.
  • Work as a team with all ICBA stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Education department to invite nonmembers attending ICBA-sponsored seminars to join ICBA.
  • Support targeted marketing efforts and direct mail pitches.
  • Respond to website requests for membership, products and services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of inside sales/telesales or account management experience preferred.
  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to interact with customers at all levels.
  • Strong functional knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • CRM experience required.
  • Experience developing and implementing a strategic plan for assigned territory.
  • Experience reporting accurate pipeline and forecasting data to sales management.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for annual sales meetings, trade shows or conferences.
