Email Marketing Specialist

Summary

The Digital Marketing Specialist is central to coordinating and delivering effective email (70%) and social media (30%) campaigns for marketing and communications. The employee collaborates with both internal and external resources, writes copy, and develops marketing outputs. This role executes the marketing team’s strategic decisions and leverages creativity to capture the attention of our audiences and conversions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Scheduling
  • Coordinates with staff to produce email and social media campaigns to promote and market association services and programs.
  • Implements marketing plans for both long-term and individual projects.
  • Identifies competing interest and objectives and seeks clarity as appropriate.
  • Content Creation
  • Writes and edits copy for email and social media.
  • Personalizes content when appropriate.
  • Manages multiple social media channels and plans content delivery.
  • Responds to social media inquiries and increases engagement.
  • Creates landing pages and forms to track leads and engagement.
  • Coordinates work with resources (graphic designers, printers, project manager and other service providers both internal/external) to accomplish projects.
  • Ensures consistent messaging on all digital channels.
  • Enforces ICBA’s style guide, branding, and policies.
  • Creates templated graphics, as needed.
  • Data Optimization
  • Optimizes audience selection and message frequency, tailoring, and timing.
  • Facilitates the management and measurement of marketing initiatives through marketing automation platforms and other tools.
  • Performs A/B tests to gather audience insights.
  • Adds tracking code/UTM to monitor campaign effectiveness.
  • Stays informed of data and technology trends and recommends future direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, communications, or marketing.
  • 4+ years of experience in marketing or communications.
  • 2+ years of email marketing.
  • 2+ years of direct management of social media channels.
  • A keen eye for detail, spelling, grammar, and messaging is critical.
  • Strong writing, editing, organizational and communication skills required.
  • Practical understanding and experience with basic email layout and design.
  • Understands audience segmentation and targeting.
  • A technologically savvy professional with an interest in data, analytics, and marketing automation.
  • Timely and organized. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track-record of managing and engaging audiences on various social media channels.
  • Understands basic HTML/CSS code and can make ad hoc adjustments.
  • In depth understanding and experience with marketing automation platforms (experience with Informz and Hubspot a plus).
  • Experience working within various platforms: Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, Twitter/Tweetdeck, and LinkedIn.
  • Ability to take initiative and collaborate for maximum benefit.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work as a member of a team and deal with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
